Dating the Buddha (563 BCE), EBT milestones and abhidhamma

Based on the paper published by Choong Mun-keat,

the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasty editions of the Chinese Tripitaka, the Buzhiyi-lun [Treatise on the Sects],

and

the Tibetan Narthang (1741–42 CE) and Peking (1724 CE) editions of Bhavya’s Nikayabheda-vibhanga-vyakhya [Treatise on the Schisms],

give the coronation of Asoka as 160 years after the death of the Buddha.

Based on the 160 years, the possible dates for the Buddha’s lifetime are: c. 508–428 BCE.

The Chinese numbers, 一百六十 (160) and 一百十六 (116), are easily miswritten as 六十 (60) or as 十六 (16)!

Based on the paper (2004) “A Discussion on the Determination of the Date of the Historical Buddha” published by Choong Mun-keat,
the Tibetan Narthang (1741–42 CE) and Peking (1724 CE) editions of Bhavya’s Nikayabheda-vibhanga-vyakhya [Treatise on the Schisms] give the coronation of Asoka as 160 years after the death of the Buddha.
However, according to Watanabe’s translation, the Derge edition (1744 CE) has 116 years.

Question for discussion: Does the Tibetan text or the Tibetan tradition give the coronation of Asoka as 160 or 116 years after the death of the Buddha?

I also post the same question in According to Tibetan tradition the coronation of Asoka as 160 or 116 years after the death of the Buddha? - Dharma Wheel

The Petakopadesa does not sound like Buddha’s words. What is the reason it is typically considered part of the Sutta Pitaka (ex. on Sutta Central)?

Hi. The same probably applies to many of these books, such as Milindapañha, Netti, Paṭisambhidāmagga, Cūḷaniddesa, Mahāniddesa, Jātaka, Cariyāpiṭaka, Buddhavaṁsa, Therīapadāna, Therāpadāna, Petavatthu & Vimānavatthu.
