@sujato Thank you Bhante. When you write ā€˜cut off from the sensesā€™, is this equivalent to ā€˜withdrawn from sensualityā€™? Katamo ca bhikkhave, sammāsamādhi: idha bhikkhave, bhikkhu vivicceva kāmehi vivicca akusalehi dhammehi savitakkaį¹ƒ savicāraį¹ƒ vivekajaį¹ƒ pÄ«tisukhaį¹ƒ paį¹­hamaį¹ƒ jhānaį¹ƒ upasampajja viharati. Indeed yes. Kamehi here is plural, i.e. the senses, rather than desire for the senses, which is singular.
