A cascade of conditions

AN7.66:1.6: The Buddha said this:
AN7.66:2.1: “Mendicants, conditions are impermanent.
AN7.66:2.2: Conditions are unstable.
AN7.66:2.3: Conditions are unreliable.

SN12.37:2.2: ‘When this exists, that is; due to the arising of this, that arises.
SN12.37:2.3: When this doesn’t exist, that is not; due to the cessation of this, that ceases. That is:
SN12.37:2.4: Ignorance is a condition for choices.
SN12.37:2.5: Choices are a condition for consciousness. …
SN12.37:2.6: That is how this entire mass of suffering originates.
SN12.37:2.7: When ignorance fades away and ceases with nothing left over, choices cease.
SN12.37:2.8: When choices cease, consciousness ceases. …
SN12.37:2.9: That is how this entire mass of suffering ceases.’”

The path relies on wise choice at all stages :

Sariputta:

"“An arahant should attend in an appropriate way to these five clinging-aggregates as inconstant, stressful, a disease, a cancer, an arrow, painful, an affliction, alien, a dissolution, an emptiness, not-self. Although, for an arahant, there is nothing further to do, and nothing to add to what has been done, still these things — when developed & pursued — lead both to a pleasant abiding in the here-&-now and to mindfulness & alertness.”

—Samyutta Nikaya 22.122

“Appropriate attention & inappropriate attention. When a monk attends inappropriately, unarisen fermentations arise, and arisen fermentations increase. When a monk attends appropriately, unarisen fermentations do not arise, and arisen fermentations are abandoned.”

—Majhima Nikaya 2

" “Monks, there are these two conditions for the arising of wrong view. Which two? The voice of another[1] (includes reading)and inappropriate attention. These are the two conditions for the arising of wrong view.”

“Monks, there are these two conditions for the arising of right view. Which two? The voice of another and appropriate attention. These are the two conditions for the arising of right view.”

—Anguttara Nikaya 2, 125-126

Sutta study educates wise attention.

Absolutely. As is (IMO) Natural Intelligence (NI). However, NI is Self-aware and its underlying algorithm self updating, whereas AI is not (so far). And when NI understands its true nature and lets the endless stream of toppling dominoes initiated post Contact run down by not craving and not clinging, the Silence is Empty.
