Because it’s the first day of the solar cycle, a whole bunch of communities celebrate today . Truly a multicultural holiday.

May your year be filled with peace and happiness :pray:t4:

“Although adverse health conditions prevented us from celebrating last year’s Sinhala and Tamil New Year, this year all of us together have made it possible to enjoy the New Year festivities, duly observing the age-old customs and traditions while adhering to health guidelines.”—Sri Lankan President

Celebrations have been restricted in all SE Asian countries and in Myanmar they poured red paint on the streets. This being the year of the Ox (Chinese astrology, started February ) it’s a time for work, not play. Like furthering the cause of democracy and recognizing the human/nature imbalance.
