I am a translator and publisher from South Korea.
I recently founded a boutique publishing house, The Sea & The Pebble, specializing in Somatics and Early Buddhism. Our name symbolizes acceptance and transformation, much like a jagged stone becoming a smooth pebble through the waves. Through this name, I wish to convey the values of acceptance, harmony, transformation, and love—all of which, I believe, are at the heart of the Buddha’s teachings .
As our first project, I am preparing a Korean-English bilingual edition of the Dhammapada, based on your translation. Titled “Dhammapada: Resting the Mind,” it is aimed at the younger generation in Korea and is scheduled for publication this Jul y.
To make the teachings more accessible to young laypeople, I have focused on selecting verses that resonate most with their daily lives. I aim to share the Buddha’s wisdom through simple and clear language, staying true to the spirit of your wo rk.
