He’d not checked the book
nor had a good look
to see Lear himself always repeated the last word of the first line again at the end of the final line - I guess not available in Thailand?

No one asked, but concerning Canadian, they are different dipthongs in Canadian English.
“Vice” has ʌi
“Wise” has ai
It’s called Canadian raising. There is a wikipedia article on it.

Thanks for your concern and encouraging limerick! Actually, I’m pretty happy, leagues ahead of before discovering the Dhamma and my practice. Anything short of full awakening is relatively crappy! 
I’ve somewhat reluctantly chosen to stay as a householder, to continue my practice with patience that circumstances will change. Mae Chee Kaew’s story of patience has been very inspiring to me.

Wow, talk about setting the bar at its highest level! For me only that would be setting myself up for more suffering [like I need more]. I too am a housewife seeking the Dharma in dish washing, and floor sweeping. Wait, what’s that smudge on the stove? The key to enlightenment perhaps?
Alas it is ours to struggle with Mara in all of its glory.
I saw a short Youtube video on Mae Chee Kaew. She seems very kind. I have learned much from Pema Chodron. She is also wise.
