In addition to what Erika said, I think a lot of what Letty wrote in this post is applicable to these kinds of abuse too.

Additionally, it is really hard and really brave for monastics and monastic aspirants to speak out about these kinds of things and not have it have ramifications on their access to resources etc. Patriarchies/hierarchies want to ‘protect’ their resources and also have larger resources than those who are making complaints.
