Anuruddha Divine eye

Can someone tell me in what sutta ven Anuradha was using his Divine eye to check for sentient beings in water before drinking and the Buddha said to filter the water 3 times then the Buddha said to Anuradha not to use Divine eye to check the water

I think perhaps you mean Ven. Anuruddha. He was the divine eye specialist.

Nothing for him turns up in a Vinaya search related to water:

Pc62 doesn’t have the story you mention. It also doesn’t have the three times check. I’m hoping someone else can remind us where that is found.

Maybe this story is in the Commentaries. I had read this story once, but I couldn’t find it again.

Perhaps Ven @Dhammanando will know.

I’ve never heard of it before and would be surprised if it’s from any Pali source. It seems to me to have more of an East Asian flavour to it. Like the sort of story that Master Hua or Thich Nhat Hanh might tell.
