I read an interesting article in Buzzfeednews last night about how the lockdown has not just curbed consumer spending, but the desire to spend and how this newfound awareness might reflect economically.

@sujato Thank you for these four talks, Bhante! I listened to them twice so far. Amongst other things, I noticed a shift into compassion and joy in the midst of the external horrors of the world knowing that I’m making choices towards the dhamma and away from choices towards bad kamma.
I’m interested in hearing you elaborate a little on a comment you made about 3/4 of the way into talk #3. You said “…frankly, there aren’t that many arahants in the world.” I found that a tad disheartening, as I aspire to awaken at some point, preferably within the next six lives or less. Can you offer encouragement in this realm? Thank you!
