It seems like in the East the word doesn’t carry as heavy of a feeling as in the West then? Maybe its a cultural thing but here is West “condemnation” is considered like a way worse mental action then “threatening” or “frightening” and one could hardly imagine a monk condemning someone and at the same time having goodwill towards them. Maybe you could ask others how they perceive it as I think there’s a potential for this to be greatly misunderstood especially in the West.
