I don’t if this is a topic of interest to members of this forum, nor how many may be well-informed (or any other way informed!) about it. But the All India Buddhist Forum has been agitating in and around the temple complex of the Mahābodhi Mahāvihāra since early February, as well as meeting with the local and state officials. The goal is to pressure the Bihar state gov’t to repeal the 1949 Bodhgaya Temple Act which essentially handed majority control in the temple administration to the local caste Hindu clan.
It’s amazing how little people know about what goes on behind the scenes at the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage site in the world.
