Buddhist monastic code and self defence

In the Bhikhupāṭimokkha there is the 74th pācittiya rule which prohibits striking a bhikkhu, but its exception is when “one gives a blow desiring freedom” (mokkhādhippāyo pahāraṃ deti), which the commentary says is to hit robbers etc in order to get away from them. My question is, is this found in the other Vinayas from the other early schools?
