Collation Strategies for the Buddhist Canon—As Seen in the Frequency and Impact of Character Variance in Canonical Editions of the Song Gaoseng Zhuan

The author Marcus Bingenheimer has kindly given permission to upload this essay. It’s probably the only serious article available in English that closely examines the methods used in collating the Chinese canons that we use today. The text examined is not one of the EBTs, but similar principles were, in all likelihood, applied throughout the canon.
