Confusion regarding dhātu vavathana

Conquering

Conquering of the self, not persons

Division and conquering of the self as per the Mahasatipatthana Sutta

Through the four foundations of mindfulness

Division of self into mind, body, feeling and dhamma(mind-objects)

Through the four primaries (Mahabhūta),

Division of four foundations of mindfulness into solidity, liquidity, gas and plasma(heat),

In the text above, some sort of problem?

On comparison of the sutta with the Mahasatipatthana Sutta, the discussion of the concept dhātu in kayanupassana but not in all the foundations, under the name of dhātu Manasikā.

But according to practice and experience:

Thoughts of something solid, like a mountain, may be a representation of solid intentions, a part of the mental realm or nāma.

Flow and cohesion of āpo = developed mind, pliable and capable of anything, like water in a pot, in the shape of a pot, in the shape of a glass.

Motion, support and vibration of vāyo = a person in motion towards some goal

Hotness and coldness of tejo or cause of change in states of matter = Change of conditions in the context of dhamma.

So, what now?

Not only the body of some living being but also all forms of bodies, like the body of some system, the body of constitution, etc.

Another discussion of the 4 primaries in Dhamma Khanda in the 5 aggregates as form/rūpa, although the ‘rūpa’ part belongs to kāyanupassana.

All of the above confusion is now a stumbling block in the practice of the four primaries.
