I started this chart as a sketch in 2011 when I decided to try to figure out how all the Dharma topics connect. It’s evolved a lot since then.
Although it’s a work in progress, I plan to make print-friendly versions as soon as I can (b&w, and color).

You can use plus & minus keys to zoom, and hand tool to pan around.
Feedback welcome.

That’s great, thank you. I’m sure many of us can relate to having thought structures similar to this but to see it on one page is excellent and very useful. I’m sure one could add to it almost indefinitely as the teachings are iterative and kaleidoscopic in nature. I like the practice section so it is not overly academic. Perhaps sutta references would be useful also?

Glad you appreciate it and thank you for the kind regards. Yes, it’s been a challenge to decide what is included and what’s not. It’s funny, the practice section wasn’t originally in my chart, but I had to include it in order to connect everything and have it make sense. I thought about including sutta references, but haven’t figured out how to do that without adding a lot of extra information. But I’ll keep that in mind as it evolves further.

Print-friendly files are ready! And a link to a large image of the chart for easy onscreen use.
I tested the printable files (PDF) with a place called theplanprinter.com. I ordered color and black-and-white printouts and they look great, as you can see in the images here.
These are intended to be printed at 36"x48". So finding a large scale printer is best to keep everything readable. I reduced the file size as much as I could so it can be emailed.
Print-friendly PDF files:

Joe, I’ve been using earlier versions of your chart since I first discovered and began studying Buddhism. This has been such an invaluable resource, thank you so much for the effort you’ve put into this!
