I’ve read repeatedly by monastics (Bhante @NgXinZhao said so much as well) that self is conventionally five aggregates and ultimately it isn’t so, but taking a close look at suttas, I’ve yet to find a single example of five aggregates being labeled as self. Things like self, are called “just a heap of aggregates” but never even figuratively are aggregates called the self. I’d be happy to be wrong.
