Therā Gathā 17.1
Ajegucchaṃ vimuttehi,
surattaṃ arahaddhajaṃ;
Jigucchissanti kāsāvaṃ,
odātesu samucchitā.
They’ll love white clothes,
And they’ll detest the deep-dyed ochre robe,
The banner of the arahants,
Which is worn without disgust by the free.
Just out of interest as a monastic or layperson I guess too, what success / failures have you had with robe/ cloth dying? Any tips worth sharing?
It seems Kāsāva… ochre is more of a clay sandy colour, I prefer dark robes as they are more cooling to the senses.
