Early Monks Dye Technique

Sukhi Hontu… I’m really interested how early monks dyed his robes. I got an information, early monks dyeing his robes with Jackfruit wood. When I try to dye with jackfruit wood, the fabrics become to yellowish colour. I think I need more than Jackfruit wood to get the colour. Another problem is when I give fixative, the colour will fade (It will too darken when I used Ferrous Sulfate), when I didn’t give fixative, It will fade too when I washed it.
