Perhaps not, but science has allowed us to confirm that animals have some of the same kind of intelligence as human beings do (just in lesser degrees) and they have also allowed us to understand how even trees and plants have certain forms of communication, and have certain forms of intelligence.
Likewise, there is a quarter in modern philosophy of mind that is now supporting Panpsychism, which is basically a kind of modern animism.
So maybe, just maybe, the pendulum is swinging the other way.
