How does 'soma' get translated as 'gentleness'/'graceful'?

In Buddha Jayamaṅgala Gāthā, ‘soma’ is rendered as ‘gentleness’ or ‘graceful’.
But in dpd, it means 1. Moon; 2. Soma plant, soma extract, soma sacrifice.
Why is this the case?

Hi,
I’m not familiar with this text, but is it possible the word should be ‘somma’? (i.e. Skt saumya ?)

‘Vidhi’ is ‘disposition’ here, in the instrumental case.

Thank you!

Nicely spotted, thanks. I just did a whole series of talks on the stories behind these verses, but I didn’t go into the Pali too much. Talks are posted here:
