Looking still for good meditation instruction and dharma teaching in Northern New Jersey. Not so easy. Just came across a IMS group, not sure what to make of it. Do they have the dharma, or is this more new age Buddhism American style?

Do you mean IMS in Barre, MA? If so there are 3 distinct venues to explore.
Closer to Northern New Jersey, Ven. Bodhi will hopefully soon resume his live sutta classes Saturday mornings at Chuang Yen Monastery, Carmel NY.
(They have been zoom-only since the pandemic.)
