JK’s Pāli Beginners Class 2026/27 (G&K) - Session 1

Thread for JK’s Pāli Beginners Class 2026/27 (G&K).

Meeting ID: 829 5896 1475

Passcode: anicca

Note, you will need to remain in the “waiting room” until host lets you in.

**Homework preparation for this class:**

1. I had asked all interested in the class to read through first 10 lessons of Lily de Silva’s “Pāli Primer” or something equivalent – this would be very helpful for those with zero prior exposure to Pāli learning. But not essential if you haven’t had a chance to do this.

2. No other class preparation necessary.

3. This initial class will be quite introductory.

To all Pāli students who have registered for this course via a message to me earlier - would you please click on the “like” for this message above (or send a short response), just so I know that you have seen it? That would be much appreciated.

If I don’t see any acknowledgement from each of you that you know where the Zoom link is for this class (which starts in one week’s time), then I will have to contact you separately.

Also, please note that this is the thread will be used for all Pāli class communication - from me to you about homework assignments or anything else, and from you to me if you have any questions on any of the material covered in the class.

Thanks, John

Hi everyone,

Good to see you all during our first Pāli beginners class today. I have loaded the class recording up to the following folder on my Google drive - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nGozuTwQTj7U6fBeNh59vksvtJLKzsLZ/view?usp=drive_link.

The first time you click on this link it will send a message to me requesting access.

Hello again, everyone.

I’ve realised that in the above post I sent the link for just the recording file from our class last Monday. I meant to send the link for the entire folder that contains this and will contain recordings of all future classes, and other class related files that I think you might find useful. So use this link please from now on: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Q12BUNd5AICanGUxku19QrCDCIHaJ06c?usp=drive_link

Then, once you request and receive read access to this folder, you won’t need to every time request access individually to other files I put there.

Also into this folder, I have just now loaded a summary of the PowerPoint slides I used, plus the Zoom chat text where I had asked everybody to introduce themselves.

Hello,

I realized that I am late in responding to the original message but I would still like to join the Pali class. Could you add me into the class roster?

With Metta,

Quynh
