Homework preparation for this class:
Read through all the Introduction chapter of Gair and Karunatillake (G&K), pp.xi through xxii. In particular study the material on the Pāli Alphabet and Pronunciation that we went over in the last class, pp.xxiii through xvi.
Read through all the grammar material in G&K Lesson 1, pp.4-11. We will go over this material in detail in the upcoming class.
Study the glossary for the first set of readings in this chapter, pp.2-4.
Work through the Lesson 1 first set of readings, pp.1-2, and write down your answers.

The answer is best to ask here as a DM is only seen by you and me, whereas a post on the thread related to the particular class can be seen by all the students and may be useful to others.

Hi @johnk , I learned only today about your class to teach Pali and I’ll love to join in the future classes. Is it possible to join at this stage? Thank you.
I will do a future Pāli class, probably next year some time. Meanwhile in the current Beginners’ class we are 5 lessons in already. It will be challenging for you, but if you are a quick learner and are willing to go back and watch all the recordings of the earlier classes in order to catch up, then of course you can join us.
Are you the same person as the Arnab Mukerjee who sent a recent request to my gmail account asking for access to the folder which has the recordings and other material? If so, I’ve granted ‘read’ permission. The next class in this series will be in about 10 days on 18 May.
