Hi John. I only just re-connected as a Sutta central Discuss and Discover person. So only just saw this Pali course you are running. Clearly, joining so far into the series is not a pathway to confidence and doing well But studying Pali more seriously would be something I’d find interesting and helpful if the chance comes up again. Can you make sure I hear about it if theres a new beginners series? Thanks. Susan Wirawan.
Hi Susan
If you navigate to the Pali course category and find the icon. From that list, select ‘watching’ then you will be notified of any new post in that category. Unfortunately this will include the rest of this course. However, your patience will be rewarded eventually
Thank you for reaching out about Pāli classes. I’m delighted you are interested in learning it.
Yes, you are right that we are too far into the current course (we’ve had 7 classes so far) and have finished the first 3 chapters of the Gair and Karunatillake book, including all the exercises.
I plan to start another course for beginners (my health and energy permitting) in October this year. But this will not be very suitable for students in the UK or Europe (as the current one is), unless you are a night owl. Whereabouts are you geographically located? The new course starting in October will be at around 9 or 10 am my time (Brisbane, Australia) and early evening East coast US time.
As Ven @Pasanna has suggested to you, just keep an eye on the Pāli thread for further details.
Thank you to all students in this class for accommodating the earlier start than normal in our class yesterday.
The recording for the class and the PDFs for the Powerpoint slides and the Gair and Karunatillake Chapter 3 exercise solutions have now been posted to the shared drive.
