Hello, I’m quite interesting to read sanskrit lokuttaravada Vinaya, because mahasamghika Vinaya out of Chinese translation is more abstract and less precise for understanding. Especially it would be good if bhikkhuni vibhanga would be translated (as far as I understand bhikkhu vibhanga is not survived?) Thus we can see more precise interpretation of rules in one of mahasamghika sub-branches. And compare it to theravada/sthaviravada interpretation.

Sorry for the late reply, I just came out of retreat.
My translation project has been under way for 10 years (it’s a side project that I only do occasionally). SuttaCentral was involved every step of the way. But halfway through, they made the general decision not to support Chinese translations, so my project got dropped and I had to move forward alone.

That’s kind of weird. I certainly benefitted from Charles Patton’s Chinese translation on suttacentral. Maybe, they had changed the decision.
Charles Patton is very tech savvy and does everything himself, including the preparation of the source texts for bilara. It’s not the SC team.
The Chinese texts that are on SC right now are outdated, not segmented, and can’t be used for bilara. You have to start completely from scratch with the texts from other websites that host the Chinese canon. Other translators may not have the tech skills to do that. I certainly didn’t even know where to begin. And I have spoken with others who were also left with unfinished translation projects because they had no idea what to do.
Charles is making a huge effort to be able to host his translations on SC. It’s way more involved than the translators that just translate from the Pali texts.
