Dear members of the forum,
I am looking for Vietnamese members to discuss English translations of pali discourses, by recluses Bodhi, Thanissaro, Sujato, such as the following:
SOLVING ‘DAILY LIFE ISSUES’
(e.g. self, health, job, wealth, family, friend, teacher, community:)
“Faith, approval … These … things may turn out in two different ways here and now. Now something may be fully accepted out of faith, yet it may be empty, hollow, and false; but something else may not be fully accepted out of faith, yet it may be factual, true, and unmistaken” (MN II.5:V(95) – Bd).
“do not go by oral tradition, by lineage of teaching, by hearsay, by a collection of scriptures, by logical reasoning, by inferential reasoning, by reasoned cogitation, by the acceptance of a view after pondering it, by the seeming competence [of a speaker], or because you think: ‘The ascetic is our guru.’ But when … you know for yourselves: ‘These things … lead to harm and suffering,’ then you should abandon them … when you know for yourselves: ‘These things … lead to welfare and happiness,’ then you should live in accordance with them” (AN 3.pII.II:5(65) – Bd).
“possessing five qualities, a lay follower is overcome by timidity. What five? He destroys life, takes what is not given, engages in sexual misconduct, speaks falsely, and indulges in liquor, wine, and intoxicants, the basis for heedlessness… possessing five qualities, a lay follower is self-confident. What five? He abstains from the destruction of life [ ___ ] abstains from liquor [ ___] the basis for heedlessness” (AN 5.pIV.III:1(171) – Bd)
& ‘LIBERATION’
(from sufferings:)
“this world…is born, ages, and dies, it passes away and is reborn, … ‘When what exists does aging-and-death come to be? … through careful attention, there took place in me a breakthrough by wisdom: ‘When there is birth, aging-and-death comes to be … ‘When what exists does birth come to be? … When what does not exist does aging-and-death not come to be?” (SN II.sI(12).I:10 - Bd).
“what is the nutriment for lack of mindfulness … ? It should be said: careless attention … nutriment for mindfulness… ? … careful attention” (AN 10.pII.II:1(61) - Bd).
“For one of careless attention, unarisen wrong view arises” (AN 1.XVI.gii:5(310) - Bd).
“one who is morally shameless and morally reckless is heedless … one who has a sense of moral shame and moral dread is heedful” (AN 10.pII.III:6(76) - Bd).
“ignorance … with shamelessness and fearlessness of wrongdoing following along … For one of wrong view, wrong intention springs up … true knowledge … with a sense of shame and fear of wrongdoing following along” (SN V.sI(45).I:1 - Bd).
“Through dispassion [his mind] is liberated” (SN IV.sI(35).pI.I:4 - Bd)

Since these translations use popular words, they are understandable and a good way to introduce pali discourses to Vietnamese people who have not read the discourses before.
I am wondering if I can find some Vietnamese fellows here.
Thank you and regards
