This was the first gatha in Satyasiddhisastra of Harivarman. There is a vol 1 and 2. Mine is 2. Is all based on sutras.
Mangala-gatha
The most auspicious is the Buddha
Who is the highest teacher and the wisest leader
among men and gods.
The most auspicious is the person
Who has firm faith in the Buddha
And keeps pure conduct
The most auspicious is
to serve the learned, not to approach the ignorant
and pay homage to the worthy of homage.
Might be this be one was the said by King Asoka. 
But it’s interesting it just begins only different than the Pali. Too bad the beginning was only there.
