Is there an error in translation of MN1?
Idamavoca bhagavā. Na te bhikkhū
bhagavato bhāsitaṃ abhinandunti.

There are variant readings here. However most scholars accept, following the commentary, that this is the only text where the monks did not rejoice. Horner’s translation, however, bucks this trend and has the monks rejoicing.
