David (in white, next to Bhikkhu Bodhi) is a beloved lay Buddhist. As it happens, he taught English at the University of Maryland-Munich during the late 1970s where my husband and my husband’s brother were enrolled. (That’s how we became Facebook friends.)
Then he went off and practiced Buddhism at various monasteries.
