I am going to India in the second half of November and returning to Germany in the first half of December.
My rough plan is: to arrive in Delhi and stay there a couple of days; next, fly to Varanasi and stay there a couple of days; from Varanasi, travel to Patna, then Rajgir, then Bodh Gaya, and see all neighbouring places where the Buddha taught or dwelt.
If anyone is in India around this time period and wants to meet, talk or travel together, I would be glad to!
I am in India and have travelled to all eight great pilgrimage places in 2023-2024, so I can provide up-to-date info, preferably in private. In the past two years Iāve also published a couple of features on Sarnath and Bodhgaya, but these focus more on their history and contemporary visitors.
Hi Oscar,
Thank you for your reply!
I would be interested in your papers.
Would be cool to meet you in India, though I am only arriving in mid-November.
Iām not sure if youāve already arrived in Delhi. If not, try to delay your trip by a few weeks, since the AQI in Delhi is currently atrocious . Iād say itās quite hazardous to your health if you were to visit the place right now.
If you read the news even many Government employees working there have been instructed to work from home and many schools have shut as well. The situationās that bad.
If youāve already reached Delhi, please wear an N95 mask when walking outside.
