I’ve just tried to open some page on “www.palikanon.com” which had over many years a very complete set of the palicanon (in german and much in english) .
The site is no more available and even there in no further information in the internet-“whois”-procedure.
Does someone has information about this? Maybe a complete saved version exists (i.e. internet archive)?
I’ve found that www.palikanon.de is still active and may provide the same contents (at least the german part) - but maybe it is a good idea now to install some archive anywhere?
upps - today it is up again! (what’s that ???)
Seems to be updated and a bit reorganized, the english parts (i.e. english index for names & concepts) removed or hidden …
I find that a sad number of Buddhist websites will forget to renew their domain name and so they can go dark for a period of time before the owner realizes.
OBU went down for about a day a couple months ago not because I forgot to renew the domain but because the Thai company my sponsor hired to renew it for us did renewal by hand (!) … and they were out that day -_- When I called to complain, this Thai company did not see why I was making such a big deal about it. “It was only down for one day. Relax dude.” I still am getting used to Southeast Asian culture
