This is the first Buddhist temple ever built. Well, the first under Gotama Buddha.
This pagoda enshrines his hair.
It was originally known as “Siri-handu seya” - The word “Siri” is another name for the Buddha.
Buddha’s tooth is enshrined here.
Here at Bambaragala Temple is where Buddha’s robe is enshrined.
This temple stores the sword where as a Prince he cut his hair and donned the robe.
Seruvila temple is where the Frontal bone of the skull is kept.
His left collar bone is at the Mahiyanganaya Temple
Thuparamaya contain the right Clavicle bone
Sela Cetiya keeps the hair relic between the eyebrows.
