I don’t think so. Acquiring evidence only depends on the ability to observe the phenomena in question. It doesn’t depend on assigning metaphysical categories to those phenomena. Scientists are empirically-minded, and don’t care much about metaphysics. Metaphysics is just something my dogmatic philosopher friends get all worked up about.
