Revised edition of the Dictionary of Pāli Proper Names

From Bhante:

Bhante Anandajoti again offeres us an improved version of an essential piece of reference material. There has long been a digitized version of this (now public domain) work available on line.

On the page above he details the improvements he made.

Because the dictionary has commentarial information, a large part has been removed in the built-in SuttaCentral version.

To get a sense of the scope of the complete work, try searching for “Sariputta”, “Kisa Gotami”, or another welknown disciple.

Since the author considers sutta titles as proper names, they are included as well.

Hmm… The search box isn’t working for me

I’d suggest that folks email Bhante Anandajoti directly to report problems. He’s not so much into forums. His email is on that page.

It works from a 6mb json file that has to get downloaded so it’s a little laggy.

I have updated the OP to include some information from Bhante’s announcement as well as the book cover. Dr. Malalasekera is really a giant in both Pali and Sinhala language and it’s nice to be able to put a face with the name.
