Rotation & spin of the Kammaja Kaya

I know I ask some weird questions, and I think this one is a going to be a long shot to get an answer for … but hey, you never know your luck here.:crossed_fingers::pray:

So I was just reading about the Buddhist version of the components of our bodies ( it looks at first glance something like the Spiritualists version of physical, mental, etheric, causal bodies etc - just with Pali names instead) - āhāraja / karaja kāya, and then the manomaya kaya
consisting of the utuja, kammaja, cittaja.

That’s side details tho, what I’m interested in is this comment - ‘ kammaja kāya has three components called “dasaka” or “ten units.” Those ten units are eight suddhāṭṭhaka and modes of rotation and spin.

I’m all ‘oh hello🤔’ at the rotation and spin bit (tho obv I should find more info on the 8 suddhatthaka part tho too if anyone has any) … but back to the rotation and spin.

I’ll try to watch my wording but if I go too far, a mod can smack me and delete this, …. but let’s just say I might know something about the rotation and spin, but I’ve had 4 different perceptions attached to it at different times. :woman_shrugging:t2: Obviously that makes it harder to figure out properly.

One was just thoughts (1) coming to me about incarnation that I was trying to write down but having trouble expressing coz my brain is stupider than my mind

The others were more in a literal motion sense. I’ve thought there was a common element involved (2)- but two potential causes - one being myself (3) , and another I thought ‘another being’ (4) caused and ooops, not very spiritual of me, but I mentally yelled ‘F#%* Off’ at them.

I never imagined I’d come across something alluding to this, so I’m trying to not get too excited for a possible elaboration/ explanation, but I’d really love some more material on this rotation and spin thing if anyone can clarify.

… and maybe I owe someone an apology for hurling that abusive remark at them :grimacing:

Hope I haven’t gone too far and can get an answer. This is one of those long term unanswered questions that would make me happy dance to understand more about.

FYI, Ok, I think I have half sorted this … at least the part where my thoughts were relating a (centripetal) spin/ rotation to incarnation

I found this quote anyway - “ When approaching the mother’s womb, gandhabba rotates rapidly and loses all its body besides the hadaya vatthu, jivitindriya , and bhava dasaka.

…. Im buying in to it anyway coz it appears to be what I was trying to write down but without all the Pali terms.

Gee, that one only took me 21 years lol :joy: … I should have started snooping at Buddhism sooner

There might ( at least sometimes) be a centrifugal spin coming back out ( OBE’s - I suppose maybe at death too) …. Anyway, that’s my theory. I’ll have to keep looking to see what I can find on that front - if anything :crossed_fingers:

Edit: Actually, nah, maybe cancel that last paragraph, it ( the centrifugal spin) might only apply when a separation is not 100% complete
