Russian mirror of SuttaCentral

Hello.

Recently, the Russian government has been restricting websites hosted by Cloudflare. Due to the inability to selectively block such websites for violating Russian law, they have blocked the entire service.

Russian Buddhists have lost the ability to read suttacentral.net without using a VPN. To fix this, I registered the domain suttacentral.ru and deployed GitHub - suttacentral/suttacentral: SuttaCentral website application on a VPS with a Russian IP address.

In the future, when I figure out how the front end works, I plan to put a notice at the top that this site is a mirror of the original suttacentral.net

The mirror is prohibited from indexing (https://suttacentral.ru/robots.txt) and will not appear in Google search results.

The question is: is it allowed to create mirrors of the suttacentral.net ? Am I violating any rules of use of the site with my actions?

This seems to be inline with other sc spin offs and copyright. Bhante @sujato will be able to say for sure

Hi, thanks for reaching out to us. Yes, we are very happy to see mirrors, and appreciate your work in doing this. The internet is becoming increasing siloed into national boundaries.

May I ask, is there anything that we could do to make this process easier for you? And is there, perhaps, a how-guide we could put together (with your help) for those elsewhere facing similar issues?
