At least five hundred one:

DN16:6.22.3: And when Mahākassapa and the five hundred mendicants bowed the Buddha’s funeral pyre burst into flames all by itself.

But that’s just around Rajagaha:

DN16:1.6.2: “Go, Ānanda, gather all the mendicants staying in the vicinity of Rājagaha together in the assembly hall.”
