Script inside my Buddha statue

As I was giving my Buddha statue a thorough cleaning, for the first time I actually looked inside (it’s hollowed out).

I saw the script and wondered whether anyone here would recognize it.

Looks northern Brahmic to me, not sure about a more precise identification. Would Devanāgarī carved like this retain the line on top of the letters?

Sir it is written कला वस्तु, meaning Art object or Work of art

its Nagari Script, used to write some Indian Languages.
