i noticed the search results are not the same when displayed in the modal dialog vs. after hitting enter. eg. the serach term ‘avila’ produces only three results after hitting enter, but like 10+ when displayed in the modal dialog…

Yes, they are actually two different forms of search. The one in the modal is much more “forgiving” in that it corrects for spelling mistakes, etc. So the behaviour you are seeing is what is expected.
If you have any specific feedback on what’s good or bad about it (please include exact search terms you tried) we are always happy to hear that.
