Starting an Appeal for an independent Safe Buddhism website

An update on developments. Whilst a unified push might be needed after Vassa (which finishes in mid October) the project has reached the following important stage:

A ‘frame’ of a potential website has been set in consultation with many professionals in Australia and Overseas, and the 6 key elements have been validated - as necessary and constructive.

An appeal has been made online for professional and qualified resource for two important elements: a confidential reporting portal that is independent of Buddhist organisations; and access to a reputable and well - supported Victim and Survivors: https://bswa.org/safe-buddhism-initiative-volunteer-professional-resources-needed/

Despite limited resources conversations seeking help have been had with Government agencies, existing specialist support groups, allies in Federal and State government, and advocacy groups.

Links to organisations with existing resources and experience are likely to be a feature of the pilot site so visitors know who they can call or communicate with - immediately.

Please continue to post here with any constructive suggestions, or if you prefer use the email function in Sutta Central; or send a private email to silaforsbi@gmail.com.

Collectively, a good resource could be in place before the end of the year.
