Sutta citation for Cause + Conditions = results

I am editing my slides on kamma, and I have this very nice animation, smart art graphic thing on cause + conditions produces results.

I realized that I didn’t have any sutta citation nor any sutta comes to mind on this exact phrasing of the teachings.

The closest would be dependent origination.

Any sutta citation to support the concept of cause + conditions = results?

hetu + paccaya = vipaka

not quite but close

Furthermore, the Realized One truly understands the result of deeds undertaken in the past, future, and present in terms of causes and reasons.

While SN 12.25 does not refer to ‘vipaka’, it does refer to ‘causes’ (hetu) & ‘conditions’ (paccaya) leading to ‘kamma’ (actions). :slightly_smiling_face:

There are no suttas with that combination because in the context of cause and effect, conditions mean those suitable for fruition of the action, which is not possible to describe (Anguttara Nikaya 4.77). For cause = results, see Majhima Nikaya 19.
