No, that’s the whole problem with apps, lol. They tend not to have this.
This is just a general rant, NOT something directed at your app… If someone is going to make an app out of a website, then it needs to have the minimum functionality of the website in a browser, otherwise I’d just use the website.
Now, that said, I don’t usually read SC on a phone, so I may not be a good case study.
Favorites/note taking is a common request here on the forum and it’s unlikely to ever be implemented natively on the site. I’m not even interested in adding it to the browser extension because it requires keeping user data. To me storage in the browser is too fragile and I’m not interested in figuring out how to host people’s data.
So I think your idea to add those to a future release is a great idea and could really be what makes an app experience better than a browser for some folks.
Regarding off-line data… I think it would be reasonable to start with just having Bhante Sujato’s translations built into the app install and then let other translators work from online/cache. This would meet the needs of a lot of users.
