The Proverb of Rice and Vinaya

In our society there is an old saying or proverb.

Seperti padi, kian berisi kian merunduk

which roughly means (sorry, my english is not perfect)

Like rice, the more it is ripe the more it duck or hanging low.

I believe or feel it has connection to the teaching of The Buddhas. It seems even correlate with the Vinaya not to talk about individual spiritual achievement.

Am I correct? What will be your comment on it?

Though one may conquer a thousand times a thousand men in battle, yet he indeed is the noblest victor who conquers himself.

Self-conquest is far better than the conquest of others. Not even a god, an angel, Mara or Brahma can turn into defeat the victory of a person who is self-subdued and ever restrained in conduct.

The more one has, more humble one becomes just like the branches laden with fruit weigh down.
