There are certain topics on Sutta Central, r/ Theravada and Dhamma Wheel which spawn long snakey threads with maybe 20 to 50 messages full of lecture. And after these threads die it is only months before they start with a slightly different title and continue the same dualistic rhetoric as if the previous threads did not exist…
…but the topics are those of general interest like Jhana, Nirvana without remainder, vitarka and vicāra, which Nikaya spawned all the rest, how many Buddhists could sit on the same bench and which kind of meditation did the Buddha personally recommend.
Is it possible or would it be even useful if there was an editorial pinned thread in which each of these little topics was given a paragraph of orientation for beginners and the the basic terms. This could even be the sourdough starter go for the Venerable Sujato’s Next book project!
