Greetings,
I must agree here. The line between what is right speech and what is unwelcoming speech, on which a post gets flagged, is tilted a bit too much toward unwelcoming speech imho. This then becomes a fairly subjective way to which an active minority could influence the debate in a way that is more welcoming to them. That, to me, seems highly disfunctional on an internet forum where we discuss the Buddha dharma, which, as we all experience, is not open to interpretation.
I can support what I just said with a recent example where a post of mine got flagged.
Now my post may not be welcoming to different views, but I don’t see any other valid reason to flag that. I even sticked the entire post to the suttas to not promote my views.
I put a lot of effort and attention in my posts to stick as close to the Buddhadharma as possible. Now it has come to a point where I am not willing to put the time and effort in posting anymore, even though I am still willing to contribute, just not in this way. And I am someone who speaks out, others may just leave.
Warm regards,
Peter
