Hi
This is a hypothesis.at the end of every anthakalpa the human lifespan is merely 10 years.guess at the end of previous anthakalpa science was developed so much like today and something like a nuclear war caused destruction of that kalpa and destroyed every single human life (like present days we are not spiritual anymore and we are close to the end of present anthakalpa).guess apes had a longer lifespan by the end of previous anthakalpa and scientists of previous anthakalpa mutated genes of apes so apes will evolve faster if any of the apes survive to next anthakalpa.that’s why our oldest human ancestor looks like an ape who is Lucy dated back to 3.8million years ago.we can’t find the human fossils of previous anthakalpa because they are hidden somewhere deep down the sea or somewhere.

may i ask where the 576 million years comes from for the length of a lifetime in the tusita heaven? is there a source for this?
edit:
That which among men is four hundred years, Visakha, is one night and day of the Tusita devas, their month has thirty of those days, their year twelve of those months; the lifespan of the Tusita devas is four thousand of those heavenly years.
https://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/an/an08/an08.043.khan.html
my maths is terrible admittedly, but isn’t this:
400 x 30 x 12 x 4000 = 57.6 million years
have i shifted a decimal place incorrectly?
But according to Suttas, humans can degenerate to the stage where lifespan is 10 years, but also due to virtuous behaviour lifespan can reach thousands of years. All of this require rather continuous flow of experience on the same Earth.
For the pious Suttas believer, some consolation can come from such books as The Forbidden Archeology.
“Overwhelming scientific evidence” as far as archeology goes isn’t so overwhelming. Also evolution theory is only theory with more holes than in Swiss cheese and devolution ( as in Suttas) can’t be proved as impossible.
Regarding the timing, MN75 is quite interesting in that it states that Māgaṇḍiya knew a saying said by previous Buddhas. The sutta states Buddha confirms this and states this verse became used by ordinary people.
How much time then has passed, how was the verse preserved. There was also Noah’s Flood. An easy explanation could be that devas told it to humans like they sometimes did approach some monks in suttas.
I’ve also heard that wanderers of the past, the tutors of tutors, said:
‘Health is the ultimate blessing;
extinguishment, the ultimate happiness.’And it agrees, Mister Gotama.”
For this verse was recited by the perfected ones, fully awakened Buddhas of the past:
‘Health is the ultimate blessing;
extinguishment, the ultimate happiness.
Of paths, the ultimate is eightfold —
it’s safe, and leads to freedom from death.’These days it has gradually become a verse used by ordinary people.
4 x 3 x 12 x 4 = 576
And then when you add the six zeros, the total is sattapaññāsa vassakoṭiyo saṭṭhi ca vassasatasahassāni, just as the Vibhanga says:
What is the age limit of Tusita devas? That which is four hundred human years is one night and day of Tusita devas; of such a night thirty nights is a month; of such a month twelve months is a year; of such a year four thousand deva years is the age limit of Tusita devas; by human calculation how much is this? 576,000,000 years.
oh boy … it’s clearly the end of the year …
thank you bhante
