Anyone have a preferred keyboard layout for typing pali in burmese script?

We don’t have many Burmese speakers here. However, if you let us know what operating system you are using, it might help.

My preference is to type in Roman and then use the script converter

I use linux debian along with an android phone. I wanted to keep the discussion focused on layouts since those are independent of operating system.
As far as what’s commonly available, the visual- and phonetic-order layouts (available from Windows for example) are both not ideal because you have to type SHIFT before you can access certain common Hindi/Pali letters like “ဂ,” “ဇ,” and “ဏ.”
Basically what I’ve found so far is usable but not ergonomic or efficient for my purposes.

I can’t read Burmese characters, but this is the same with Sinhala characters. But really it’s also the same for typing in roman script. You have type option+n to get ṇ.
If you are used to typing QWERTY then it’s probably a less steep learning curve to use the QWERTY layout than the phonetic one.
