Does anyone have a copy of Bernhard’s Udānavarga (but not the one included in Ānandajoti’s edition, the original Bernhard). The reason I ask is that chapter 33, verse 21 has an anomaly (“abhinandanti” for “abhinandati”) and I’d like to check if it’s a typographical error or not.

Thank you, but the Gretil transcriptions, though useful, are missing the very important critical apparatus. I have since found a PDF here: Udanavarga 1 . There is a note under “abhinandanti”, specifying that it is an alteration “metri causa”, i.e. for meter. So the SuttaCentral rendering is correct.

Glad you found it. Texts are tricky! And the process of getting from a manuscript through many hands to a website is also tricky!
