Dear members of the Sangha, I present to you my respectful salutations.
Greetings to all.
I hope you are well.
I wished to write concerning the observance of the Uposatha precepts which I’ve found to be of great benefit. The only “issue” I would happen to have would be the lack of likeminded individuals during such days (or should I simply focus more on solitary practice?). I had benefited greatly from a previous online gathering with wonderful practitioners that inspired me greatly but the fixed weekend dates didn’t work much for me.
Following the Uposatha days would feel a lot more conducive in that regard.
Are there any existing ones ? If so, I’d gladly join one. If not, I’d feel compelled to create one and invite any wishing to participate!
I thank you for reading me and wish you the best, with mettā.
I believe that @Bhikkhu_Jayasara has run uposatha day sessions online in his discord server in the past.
Solitary practice is also very beneficial and inspiring.
And you can always choose the day that works best for you without worrying about the date for many other people.
There are many Suttas that show how important this practice is.
I recently studied this one (in an online Sutta study group
)
With the Sakyans
Sakkasutta
AN 10.46The Sakyans say that they don’t always observe the eight precepts on the sabbath. The Buddha strongly admonishes them to be more consistent.

I’ve never used it myself, but Wat Metta has one:
I think this Monastery also broadcasts the days of Uposatha..
