Looks like an interesting event, thanks for bringing it up.
Footprints in the Dust by S. Dhammika (Pariyatti Edition).
The download link here doesn’t seem to work, is it just me?
Edit: I found it here (I assume it’s okay to share the link since it’s supposed to be a free download anyway).
Well it’s with a pay wall… it works for me.
It says “Free Download” on the link that’s broken for me.
The Url on the pariyatti page is mangled. After some experimentation, I was able to reconstruct what the url should be:
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=1B74xDQc4osCWUYKDM7WLeAlOysHWdxJF
I wrote to Pariyatti and they fixed the link right away. Should work now.
For those who prefer to read online, this is the latest version (includes SuttaCentral reference numbers)
I’m reading it at the moment thanks to you, Stu, posting it in another thread. It’s a very interesting book, with lots of material to contemplate on (I find). Thank you again for posting this
Wonderful book! I have looked for a recoding of this interview, but have not found one…does anyone know if there is a recording or if there will be one available? Thanks!
One major issue in the book is the author supports the hometown (Kapilavastu) of the Buddha was Piprahwa in Uttar Pradesh, India.
However, another site was in Tilaurakot in Nepal. 📕 Footprints in the Dust by Bhante S Dhammika - #20 by thomaslaw
I visited the two sites many years ago.
I consider it may be better to consider and include both, the Indian and Nepalese sites, were all the areas of ancient city of the hometown of the Buddha.
