But it’s not an academic forum. It’s a Buddhist forum.
“Academic” and “EBT” discourse are not mutually exclusive categories (neither are “academic” and “Buddhist.”)

[SCDD] was originally conceived as a place for the translators and programmers of Sutta Central to share their understanding of the texts they were working on. Over time, it has evolved into a site for serious practitioners, both lay as well as monastic, to discuss their understanding of the Early Buddhist Texts (EBT) as well as their application to Life. That looks to me like SCDD spans both academic and EBT discourse–and by inference from the fact that the EBTs are not an -ism, one might even argue that entails an exclusion of Buddhism.

Just concerned that people are claiming that the forum is something that it is not.
I share your concern.
But I will be more conscientious about how I respond to people who say this is a Buddhist forum, and hope the same courtesy is extended to those of us who are here to get away from Buddhism.
I like fun. I especially enjoy academic discussions about the EBT.
